FFP FO PARTNERS FORUM (FOPF): DAY 2: RECOMMENDATIONS



Recommendations from the strategic partners: Gudrun Cartuyvels of TRIAS-Philippines, highlighted the need to working together with partners to complementing services and the importance of going beyond yes or no discussions to see the different ideologies to learn and converge. More so, Stefaan Bonte of AgriCord put forward the framing of Farmer-to-Farmer exchanges to set relevance to specific services. While, the new Chairperson, Dr. Hong emphasized the need for inventory of services in each organization to be able to know what to prioritize, and from there, be able to scale-up from one, then multiply.

FFP FO PARTNERS FORUM (FOPF): DAY 2 : REFLECTION

Th plenary report ran through showcasing of existing services offered and identifying feasible innovations to replicate in the respective FOs. Realizations from the FOs was drawn out,  among others, were the importance of setting clear its mission and vision to improve their services in the grassroots level;  improving on capacity building initiatives through a conduct of learning exchanges, and strengthen their organization by institutionalizing a semestral meeting for sharing information and evaluating achievement, and reflecting on challenges; and  focusing on creating enterprises, building partnerships, and developing modules.

Workshop: "Improving FO Services to FOs and help FOs Deliver Better Services to their Members"
Farmers and FOs were grouped to brainstorm on lacking  initiatives and propose interventions to ensure quality services delivered to the organizations suited for their  present situation and needs.

Reflection: On World Cafe sessions, the various services offered by DHRRAs and FOs to their partners and members made way for reflection on knowing the current level or position of their respective FOs and members as compared to other presenters. More so, it was a venue for learning solutions and replicating applicable services in their organizations.

AsiaDHRRA Program Manager, Florante Villas, begins the first session of the forum by leveling-off what "service" is, then,  introduced the AsiaDHRRA  and DHRRA services to Partners as reflected from the  DHRRA and FO profiling survey.  Results show that Capacity Building tops the list followed by  technical assistance specifically in  enhancing management and financial systems, processes, and project development.

11TH ASIADHRRA GENERAL ASSEMBLY: DAY 2: BUSINESS MEETING

GA Business Meeting: In conjuction with the regional forum the, 11th AsiaDHRRA General Assembly Business Meeting was held to see through AsiaDHRRA’s accomplishment and lay down the country DHRRA reports for the past two years.  The business meeting was concluded with the election of new set of AsiaDHRRA Executive Committee, as to: Nguyen Xuan Hong (VietDHRRA) , the Chairperson, and the Vice-Chairpersons, Margarita Dela Cruz for Southeast sub-region (PhilDHRRA) , Sung Lee for Northeast sub-region (KoDHRRA), Pan Sopheap for Mekong sub-region (CamboDHRRA), and Nanthini Ramalo for the Women-at-Large (DHRRA Malaysia), while Marlene Ramirez re-appointed as the Secretary General.

Closing Message: Tran Thanh, Project Officer of VietDHRRA, the youngest DHRRA member closed the sessions by recognizing his role  and other younger DHRRA members as primarily responsible in protecting the environment and making rural communities a better and safer place.

Closing Message: Pan Sopeheap, FNN Executive Director of CamboDHRRA expressed his take away from the sessions pointing out constructive engagement with public and private sectors and involving them in the process.

Ways Forward: Marlene Ramirez, AsiaDHRRA Secretary general guided the assembly on the next steps of the regional study aiming finalization by January 2018 to be presented to relevant decision and policy working bodies. She puts forward continued coordination with DHRRA, together with regional and national partners in response mobilization for  regional facility for disaster preparedness and livelihood recovery.
